IN RESPONSE: Cartoon unfairly maligned officers
I have been a member of the Evansville Police Department for 22 years. I have never, nor have I ever observed any officer, take any enforcement action based on the color of someone's skin. It troubles me to live in a community where the local newspaper finds it appropriate to publish a cartoon showing white officers mistreating a black man when such mistreatment has not taken place.
